Gingham has been taking over the streets recently (regular and runway), and I've definitely been wearing my fair share--cue gingham off-the-shoulder top here and here! 

I opted for a super simple outfit pairing with my gingham ruffle skort. I love the ruffle detail on it and wanted it to stand out, so I went super simple with a black tank (less than $2 at Forever 21--really though how insane is that..you can barely buy anything for less than $2 these days). I then paired it with simple black heels with buckle detailing, and my black Proenza. Even though the bag is black too, I love that the snakeskin really pops next to my black tank. I'm a huge fan of mixing different textures and styles but to keep it from looking like too much, monochrome (or sticking to a few colors) is definitely the way to go!
